She was my second mother
I even called her mom when I was two
Just after the birth of my brother
I spent hours and hours at her house
Playing, hiding, laughing, and learning
Her daughters were like my sisters
Eating, twirling, hugging, and laughing
The women I knew then is not the same now
We all change as we grow
But somehow this mother seems more distance
Instead of feeling warmth as I sat by you I felt resistance
As sat by her I had visions of a huge embrace
Filled with tears and laughter all enlaced
I have a picture of you giving me ginormous hug
I remember it to this day too because it was filled with eternal love
Oh I dream of the day when whatever weighs upon you
Will blow off in the wind
You can tell us of your joys and heartaches
And together will hug and laugh as times of old
As we enjoy new memories together
O mother I love you
mother I do
How I long to be hugged by you
Not just any hug
A hug that lets you know
I love you my 2nd mother
that I want you to know.
